De Anza Chapter NSDAR
Encinitas, California
|

The De Anza Chapter of the DAR was organized in 1934 and serves the San Dieguito area, which includes
Leucadia, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Olivenhain, Vista, San
Marcos, Carmel Valley, Escondido, and La Costa.
The De Anza Chapter meets September through June of each year. We meet the first Saturday of each month at
different locations to accommodate special programs during the year. Meetings/events are held in both public
places and private homes. Most members are from the local area; however, some members are from other
areas, as well. Local residency is not a requirement for membership in any chapter.
The purpose of the De Anza Chapter is threefold:
*Historical - to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence.
*Educational - to promote knowledge of American History through essay contests and community events.
*Patriotic - to cherish, maintain, and extend the institutions of American freedom, to foster true patriotism and
love of country, and to aid in securing for humankind all the blessings of liberty.
